Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We serve an under-served community where all of the students receive Title One funding. With only twenty percent of the students in grades three to five meeting grade level standards on the 2024 state testing in English language arts, foundational writing skills is an area where students need to improve.
Legible penmanship, along with proper spelling and grammar, are crucial for effective communication and literacy development.
Learning the rules of spelling, students can develop a deep understanding of English by studying the structure of words and the families of related words. Grammar is integral to writing development because it allows for clear communication with research suggesting that it contributes to strong reading comprehension. Improving these skills will increase their proficiency in reading, writing and communication skills.
