it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing. They come to school prepared to learn and try their best to achieve our high expectations every day.
Our school is located in a low-income area with most students receiving free or reduced-price lunch.
Most of my Intervention students have limited resources outside of school, so school may provide their only chance to experience strategic and engaging academic activities. My goal, every year, is to create a learning environment that is warm, safe, and inviting while having high expectations for my Intervention students' success. Many of my students are reading at least one year below grade level. It is so important that my Intervention students attend school everyday to receive the extra help they need. My students will start the year in school (yay!) and it so important to keep my classroom safe and clean for them. I also want my classroom to be a warm and engaging place for my students to learn. These new supplies will help me do it all!
My Project
My goal for the upcoming school year is to increase attendance. One way to improve attendance is by eliminating the amount of germs that float around in our classroom. Germs and illness lead to many student absences and lost learning opportunities. As we have seen this past school year, missed classroom opportunities can lead to significant learning loss and student disengagement.
Students may be coming to school with runny noses and colds; it's important to stop the spread of germs and keep our classroom a healthy place to learn.
Clorox wipes, computer wipes, and aerosol spray will help decontaminate and clean all of the surface areas in our classroom. Having sufficient Kleenex will enable students to be able to cover and wipe their noses without having to leave the classroom. Once we have created a clean and healthy atmosphere, the learning activities, literacy resources, and snacks I have requested will engage and excite my students. Now that we are returning to in-person learning, let's make this the best school year ever!
