My Students
My students are young men and young ladies who live in the "most dangerous" city in the US as well as being labeled one of the "highest poverty rates." They struggle daily in many ways to make it to school, but once they arrive they are ready to go. We have breakfast together and then we are off on our learning adventure for the day. My students come to school to learn. They have plans for college, and to reach those goals we push every day to overcome the struggles they face.
My Project
Back to Basic Supplies! is a project to help with basic supplies that are desperately needed in my classroom. We have not received any supplies for our classrooms this school year. I have purchased several cases of paper already. I am not a worksheet teacher but it is needed for homework and activity options for the students. We need pencils for our daily work. The folders and hanging folders are to help my students keep organized.
Our desks do not have storage so the hanging folders, manilla folders, and plastic drawers will help my students have a place to keep their books and belongings.
Organization is a important skill that my students need to be taught and these supplies will help them learn how to stay organized but we can't do it without the basic supplies such as pencils and paper too.
