Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

500 students-grades K through 4th-learning technology and World Language simultaneously in the computer lab ... need to be able to print and take home some of their work, some of the time.

Our primary students for the first time receive the opportunity to learn language ... in a computer lab!

With this opportunity, many of our students are experiencing using a computer for the first time! 500 students-most from low socio-economic backgrounds, and most w/minimal exposure to technology are excited to have their own computer once a week, their own set of headphones. Now, they'd like nothing more than to be able to print their work and show it off!

My Project

With basic supplies such as ink and paper, our students will be able to see their computer skills ... and language skills transferred onto a hard copy that they can show off and take home to mom and/or dad. They get discouraged when they create a Microsoft Word or Paint document for the first time that they're proud of, and can only see it at that moment.

Unfortunately basic needs such as paper and ink can be too pricey and not as much of a priority as should be, in our district.

By allowing our students this simple necessity, they will be able to put their newly acquired technology and language skills to use. They can't wait to make our programs for school assemblies, signs for the hallways, notes home to parents ... homework, and more!
