This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from homes where they often live at or below the poverty level. They will be in many cases the first to attend college. They often struggle with English as their second language.
My students are also funny and clever and smart in so many ways.
They have ideas and they want to have a voice in what happens in their lives. They also ask so many interesting questions. They are concerned with the world around them.
They are kids striving to become successful adults. This can be a challenge, but their silliness is often just what we need to get to the next step. We work hard as a team to learn skills that will help us in our lives.
My Project
This past year has been difficult and as we transition back over the next few months. Some things will change. However, I want my classroom to work for ALL MY STUDENTS.
A Working Projector and Safety Gear will help us all feel safe and comfortable.
I am hoping to create individual material bags for my students as well. Their materials with no contamination will definitely help. A projector so no one has to break the social distancing protocols will help us now and in the future.
Even a standing desk for the teacher will help engage students in the classroom and on Zoom at the same time. This project is all about getting us back on campus and keeping us there safe and sound where we belong.
