My Students

My scholars this year are a wonderful, caring, and energetic group of kindergarten friends. Although they come from a high poverty background, they all work as a team to motivate and encourage one another academically, socially, and emotionally. It is so heartwarming to see them grow together as a family.

My school is a Pre-K-8 building, where 100 percent of the scholars receive a free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch. Once my friends fill their stomachs, they are ready to come to class and fill their brains with knowledge. Each scholar works to meet his/her academic potential with support from myself and peers. We are a great team this year!

My Project

Backpacks are the communication between home and school! My scholars are in need of these backpacks to help keep a line of communication going between home and school.

My scholars come from a poverty stricken area, and many of them lose their homework and materials on the sidewalks or buses because they do not have a backpack.

They need these packs in order to help instill responsibility for their learning at an early age.

I know these backpacks would help my kindergarten become organized and take responsibility for their supplies and homework! It would help keep their parents stay involved with their learning.
