Mathematics is compiled of many different concepts. Some of these concepts are patterns, measurement, geometry, statistics, and probability. These concepts are often unfamiliar, abstract, and confusing to students. Children can easily understand some of these concepts and others take time and practice until they are understood. We need to help children develop the ability and confidence to find their way around in each of these areas. They need to be able to see how they connect, and know what to do should they forget a fact or procedure. One way to achieve this ability and confidence is through play.
Bingo is a game that has been around a long time. They have now brought it into the classroom with mathematical variations on the game. There are games that help students to reinforce the concepts of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, time and fractions for example. These games not only allow students hours of fun in an otherwise regimented day but they also allow for hours of beneficial learning and reinforcement.
I am asking for a complete set of mathematical bingo games for my fourth grade classroom that will not only be used by my students this year but will be used by my students in many years to come.
