Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am aware that students learn better with hands on activities, so having the tools available to help their learning is always exciting! I use whiteboards almost daily as an activity in my classroom. I use whiteboards for guided practice and to record modeled strategies. The whiteboards allow me to see exactly what they are doing, as well as provide an easy place for them to show and share their work. COVID has been impactful in many ways, one of which is that learning had to be less hands-on in order to respect social distancing guidelines. I am excited to see my students in group learning again. With this grant provided by the Arizona Department of Education, I am excited to kickstart cooperative and highly engaged learning once again.
