My students need basic supplies like composition notebooks, pencils and erasers. We also need a printer so we can print without leaving our portable classroom.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Most of my 4th grade students are reading at a 2nd grade level, and are struggling with English. In our school, we have a 97.5% low socioeconomic status and 73.7% of them are at risk.
I have 44 students eager to learn how to read and to master the English language!
The enjoy when I read to them while they follow the reading in their own books.
The first day of school I asked them what they expected from me, and they stated they want me to teach them to speak English and to write in cursive :-)
I can see the potential they have and I want to give them the foundation they need in order to have success at school.
My Project
Most of my students' families can't afford school supplies. The writing materials, printer, printer paper, color and regular pencils will help my students with their writing and reading.
My students will create interactive notebooks in the Fall and in the Spring; they are so motivated to write and learn!
They will develop their writing and reading skills, as well as their creativity.
I chose a Bingo game and a set of writing charts that will help them master their English language skills in a fun and visual way. I am grateful for the opportunity my students have to receive learning materials.
