Most of my students come from single-parent homes with low-income and/or government assistance. My students face a multitude of challenges in their neighborhoods and homes. However, our classroom is one where my students know that they are safe and can enjoy being a kid.
My students are eager to learn.
They enjoy talking about what they've learned each day. They encourage each others' accomplishments with a round of claps and encouraging words. I look forward to each new day of learning with them.
My Project
Having school supplies is one important component needed in learning. Unfortunately, too many of my students start the school year off without having the necessary supplies.
I do not want any of my students to feel that they are not a part of our classroom due to the lack of school supplies.
I want to give them supplies as a part of the welcome to an awesome new school year. Having folders, pencils, markers, notebooks and glue will be a great part of the transition back into the classroom after being out due to the pandemic.
