My Project

Science education is all about experiences. It is visual, it is hands-on, and it gets messy. The items I included for this project will help create a visually stimulating, welcoming environment for learning to happen in.

STEM is an intimidating field for many people, especially women.

Having a visual poster about women in science may give my female students inspiration to pursue STEM as a career or a hobby.

The life science posters will give students an alternative way to access the material. Very few teenagers can focus through an entire lecture or activity, and when their eyes wander they can wander towards cool posters of cells and characteristics of life.

Measuring tapes are extremely useful in labs and activities. These measuring tapes will be able to withstand years of student use.

In biology, the surface area to volume ratio is an essential to understanding how life functions efficiently. The base ten kit that I have requested is an outstanding visual aid to understanding this concept.
