Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are amazing! They come from mostly working class and low income families living on the southwest side of Chicago. Our school is ethnically diverse, with many bilingual families, and many of my students have a language other than English as their home language.
My students inspire me with their energy and enthusiasm everyday!
I work primarily with children with special needs in the primary grades and most of my students receive specialized services for reading and math instruction as well as social-emotional support and independent functioning skills. They love to learn, laugh and explore and they are hard working, creative and insightful!
My Project
Space is limited at my school and I am very lucky to share my classroom with an amazing teacher and many primary diverse learners. We work together and share materials as much as possible and would love to have these carts and trays to store our supplies and keep our classroom running smoothly. These organizer carts provide a great way to keep materials at the ready and accessible to all. We can easily label the drawers and even move them around our space as needed so we always know where to find exactly what we need for each lesson and activity.
