My Students

I teach in a kindergarten through sixth grade cross categorical classroom in a rural poverty stricken area. These students come to my classroom for instructional reading and math. We work with students individually and in small groups to help them meet their goals. There is a wide variety of interest, abilities, and goals. They are a very energetic and loving group. They love hands on, active, and engaging learning experiences. Many of my students lack the supplies and resources needed to succeed.

My Project

Help me give my students some much needed supplies to be more successful learners. My students lack basic supplies like pencils, facial tissues, and disinfectant wipes that are necessary in a classroom. I would like to help supply some of these items so that they are able to complete their classwork in a healthy environment. I also want to give them some math stories to help our math lessons be more engaging and create interest in new math concepts. My students love to listen to read alouds and a math story would be an excellent way to introduce a concept.
