Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have come from many different parts of the world including Ecuador, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, and the United States. They come with tenacity, creativity, and a wide variety of experiences and gifts. We work hard every day as scholars, artists, critical thinkers, and friends.

At our school, 96% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch, and 92% of the students are students of color.

The majority of my students are learning English as a second or third language. These students have the capacity to achieve greatness.

My Project

We love books in our classroom! We read for a half hour every day. Without our independent reading time, my students feel unfulfilled. Books transport us to new worlds and give us new dreams to chase. "A book is a dream you hold in your hand," Neil Gaiman.

My students are absolutely in love with books, and we need to keep building our classroom library.

These books will be a perfect addition. Books like "Lumberjanes" and "Magnus Chase" should do the trick!

My students love getting lost in a book. My students need a vibrant, modern, and engaging classroom library. There are really strong characters in these books which will impact my students for many years to come.

This coming year, a whole new group of students will be starting in my classroom. I want them to feel the magic of a well-stocked classroom library. We are on our way to becoming great readers, and your support is crucial to that goal. Thank you for considering our project!
