I teach an inquisitive, motivated group of advanced fourth graders who learn by questioning and creating. They are a joyful group eager to discover new things each day. Together, we create a community filled with choice and empowered learners. Design and innovation are integrated into all we do and my goal is to provide exciting and engaging hands-on experiences so that learning comes to life. Ours is a collaborative classroom where students work together to make sense of the world around them. Through exploration and problem solving, students are better able to understand and make a difference in the world they live in. Learning in our class is an adventure!
My Project
We are all authors! And each day during writing workshop students write narrative, information, and opinion pieces. They work hard to generate ideas, draft, revise, edit, and then publish their pieces.
With the Epson-EcoTank ET-3710 Wireless All in One Printer, students will be able to print their books in color and begin to build personal libraries filled with their own writing.
After printing multiple copies of their books, students will create their own traveling library collections that can visit other classrooms. By printing books and sharing them with others, writing becomes public. When student writing goes out into the world and students receive feedback, students want to write more and begin to see themselves as awesome authors.
