Help me give my students a MacBook Air Pro 13.6 laptop to help create and organize relevant science content such as graphic organizers and illustrations to support struggling learners before and after after school.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
I am a middle school science teacher who enhances instructional delivery through the use of technology. However, functional computers are limited at my school. Having limited technology makes it difficult to create innovative lessons that center on student choice. Technology has become a staple in students' learning process and has the ability to awaken creativity in students.
I plan to use the Macbook Pro Air 13.6 laptop to create graphic organizers, illustrations, and creative projects to chunk science concepts.
Additionally, the laptop would serve as a center activity for students to use to type answers to questions about the lesson, solve equations, and complete group assignments in real time.
As a center resource, the laptop will help students chunk assignments to better understand science content, provide illustrations, communicate in real time with teachers, and organize and track information.
By creating and providing nonlinguistic diagrams, students will have the resources needed to enhance their learning, increase their confidence, and keep the spark alive as they learn new concepts. Providing my students with a Mac Book Pro Air will enhance their learning by ensuring that equity is evident, enhance student choice, increase student engagement, and increase their academic performance in science.
My hardworking, tenacious students deserve to have the opportunity to experience and explore creative practices, hands-on engagements, and student-choice options that showcase how they best learn. My students and I thank you in advance for considering the request to purchase a Mac Book Pro Air 13.6 laptop.
