My first graders are learning to become AVID readers! I love how excited they get when they read more and more! In first grade we work on building our reading volume and stamina. Our goal is to read independently for 30 minutes. My first graders read independently and with a partner daily at various reading spots in our classroom.
Seat sacks would allow the first graders to have their "just right" books at their finger tips throughout the day.
How do you get better at reading? By reading of course!
My Project
Seat sacks will be used by my first graders to store their "just right" independent books. Instead of digging through their desk or getting up to get books out of the book box they will have them readily available.
By donating to my project, seat sacks will ensure my students have more time with books in their hands!
First graders will be learning to be AVID readers by reading more and more. Seat sacks will allow my students to organize their "just right" books and reading workshop resources. During the day my first graders often read in various reading spots. The seat sacks would easily move with them to their spot.
