This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember what it was like to take the SAT or the ACT? It was frustrating. Well, I would like my AVID students to be prepared by having a PSAT Prep where they can be successful.

I teach AVID at a low-economic school made up of Hispanic and African-American children in an inter city area.

These students want to go to a 4 year college or university. Our students receive free lunch and most can't even buy supplies. In addition, this will be the first time that these students will be exposed to requirements for college.

My Project

The PSAT Prep will be use to prepare them to take the PSAT in 10th grade. Exposure is very important; the earlier the students start practicing for the PSAT test the better their score will be. Then they will be ready to take the SAT and/or ACT in their junior year of high school. We will be using this prep once a week.

Remember what it was like when you had to take the SAT.

You probably were nervous and wished that you were more prepared. Please help the AVID students by donating 30 PSAT Prep books, so I can help them prepare for the PSAT exam. My students and I will be eternally grateful to you.
