Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The supplies I am requesting will help my students build a foundation of organizational skills for them to be successful scholars in the future. Often times students do not have their own space at home and their backpacks and school materials resemble their chaotic home environments.
In AVID, we take steps and work on how to maintain an organizational system that works for them so that they are successful in their classes.
We also do fun projects related to college and career exploration. We are currently working on a gratitude project for the month of November. Each day students wrote something they were grateful for and the reason why. Each entry had a different focus (i.e. a person, a song, a book etc.).
