AVID - Focused Notes for Success

Help me give my students the supplies they need to take focused notes! The telescoping binders will help them build their portfolios and keep them organized! The highlighters, colored pens, and sticky notes are essential for this process!

My Project

AVID stands for Advancement Via Individual Determination. In AVID, students learn how to take focused notes which includes reading, highlighting, annotating, etc.

Focused notes are skills they will use in all of their other classes and future college/career endeavors.

The supplies requested (pencils, highlighters, pens, and post-it notes) will help students interact with all 5 levels of focused note taking (1: Take the notes; 2: Process the notes; 3: Connect thinking; 4: Summarize & Reflect; and 5: Apply learning). Telescoping binders will help students organize their notes/portfolio. Earbuds allow students to engage with audio/video content being used in the classroom to gather information and evidence for particular lessons.

Students enrolled in the AVID elective have signed up due to their own individual determination. Thank you for supplying them with these tools so they can focus on their goals!
