My Students
Welcome to our school with all of our amazing students! We are an inner-city school with over 540 PreK-6 grade students, all who receive free breakfast and lunch. Students keep thanking me for the new resources and supplies and I tell them it couldn’t happen without your support!
My students would be grateful to have aviator simulators to learn about aviation, skype with pilots, explore the possible careers in aviation and give them an opportunity to experience life as a pilot.
I have been lucky enough to be teaching at the same school for 23 years and am grateful each and every day for my students.
My Project
My students are learning about aviation, different types of pilots, careers and researching past and present men and women who are involved in all aspects of flying.
With the flight simulators, my students will have the exciting opportunity to learn aviation vocabulary, learn how to simulate a plane during take off and landing, how to use the controls and an idea of what it takes to be a pilot.
This is an amazing opportunity to continue with their learning and exploration of aeronautics.
Students are learning aviation concepts through our STEAM curriculum as well as our Flying Classroom curriculum with Captain Barrington Irving (the youngest African American man to build a plane and fly around the world). They are inspired by him and have had the amazing chance to meet him twice to hear about his experiences growing up and current career.
