My Project
I have been having fun in my classroom lately. Teaching through the pandemic helped me find the "fun" in music class again. We've been pulling instruments weekly, creating a new and innovative curriculum while singing our hearts out. I would love to have these cabasas, wood blocks, finger cymbals, and recorders to take music to the next level.
These instruments will help us expand our musical opportunities.
The cabasas, finger cymbals, and wood blocks would help us have 1/3 class sets of unpitched percussion instruments. These instruments would be used k-6 with percussion play-a-longs, practicing beat and rhythms, creating soundscapes, and adding ostinatos to my students' beautiful singing. The Alto and Soprano Recorders will open more options for us to play in 4th grade specifically. These instruments give us the ability to explore more tone centers and timbres. They will allow my students to play accompaniments to their singing in keys that work for their voices. All of these instruments will make our classroom more complete and give students more options to explore.
