This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Have you ever needed a specific tool for a job and just could not find one? My students would like to work on some of their own projects and we do not have a car lift or rotisserie to give them the right access to fixing them. With the right tools any project can be completed with some hard work.

Our school has a great shop program with hard-working students doing many projects.

Our school is located in a city where there used to be a large air force base. The base has since been closed but we still have a large number of our students with military parents and grandparents. Our students come from a poor socioeconomic area and over 90 percent are on free and reduced lunch. They strive to learn and are eager to try new things in different classes. Our shop programs need some new tools and resources to help our kids get involved in all aspects of vocational training. We are hoping to complete this project and give students a great new tool to use in the shop.

My Project

We are a requesting a Carotator Auto Lift/Rotisserie for our shop classes. This new tool would allow more students to enroll and work on a large assortment of projects for each period. The Carotator would also be used for after school student projects and our weekly shop night where students are allowed to work on their personal projects and vehicles. These tools would get more students involved in school and learning new skills.

It is important for me to help students find a connection with school.

Not all students strive and excel in the classroom environment. Some love to work with their hands and look forward to building and fixing things. Without these workers, we would have difficulties finding builders and mechanics. These tools puts the resources in our students' hands and allows them to get to work. The Carotator will get more kids involved in our school shop classes.
