My Project
My students are teenagers between 14-16 years old diagnosed with a range of disabilities from the Philadelphia area. I have 10 students who are in desperate need of art and cooking supplies to help them with instruction in their independent lives.
I have been very limited in our cooking activities at school because of the lack of oven and for reusable cooking items.
I want to be able to teach them and introduce them to nutritious foods, but am limited with just having a microwave.
Many of my students are also in the need of social and emotional support and art therapy. We enjoy doing mood-els, where we express our feelings but are currently limited on supplies. I have had various students say that they enjoy painting, and I would like to provide them with the opportunity to do so.
