My Project
My students are autistic and range in age from 5-10 years old. Many of them are picky eaters who prefer crunchy foods due to sensory issues. Some of them do not eat the school meals and others don't have access to snacks during the school day, making it difficult to learn if they are hungry.
My students need snacks that will keep them full while meeting their learning and sensory snacking needs!
Children on the autism spectrum often express a strong preference for foods that feel a certain way in their mouths. Some prefer soft foods while others need the stimulation that crunchy foods provide. My students love snacking on all sorts of things and need the energy to keep on learning. Let's keep them snacking!
