Help me give my students the basic classroom tools they need to work independently.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Arty's classroom raised $435

My Students
My students are autistic and range in age from five to ten years old. They receive special instruction in small classrooms (6:1:1), along with related services throughout the school day, such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and counseling.
My students present delays in gross/fine motor coordination, and spacial/visual problem solving, which may affect their performance with academic tasks (using classroom tools and materials), activities of daily living (dressing, feeding, hygiene), and participation in physical education and play activities.
Many of them have difficulty attending for extended periods of time and many demonstrate sensory-seeking behaviors.
My Project
These items will make a great difference for many of my students when it comes to learning. In addition to needing help with the academic basics (reading, writing, math), most of my students have difficulty with fine motor activities and eye-hand coordination.
With these basic adapted classroom tools, my students will be able to work at their own pace with increased independence.
The incorporation of simple materials and adapted tools (e.g., self-opening scissors, various shaped crayons/pencils, dry erase board) can play a huge role in developing the fine motor and pre-writing/writing skills of my students as they complete daily classroom tasks.
