This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school is Title 1 and we have most of our 690 students on free and reduced lunches. Most of our students are from single-family homes. Lots of the students in Harris County were affected by the Hurricane Harvey devastation in our community.

My ESL (English as a second language) class is made up of students from different countries.

Sometimes their parents are not English speakers and the students love to share with their parents what they learn at school. Parents learn from the child, by practicing English with them. When the students do fun things at school, they are excited to go home and share their experiences with family.

My Project

The program is a research based and proven activity that includes technology and science when teaching students letters, sounds, words, and sentences.

Letters Alive Augmented Reality technology (using STEM) will help students build a solid foundation in reading.

This can be used for individual students, in centers, or as a whole group activity. The reactions students have when seeing their letters come alive include giggles, squeals, and happiness. They are learning and having fun at the same time. They are able to use all their senses in a positive environment while covering the state TEKS and district requirements. It will help increase their speaking skills, as well as include engagement, focus, and participation.

These animal card jump into reality and use 3D technology which helps cover the STEM and STEAM requirements.
