My Project
We are preparing our students for a world where mobility and technology will be paramount. Learning, collaboration and innovation become predominant in preparing our students for their medical futures! With the integration of the iPad into our classroom, learning will become personalized, interactive, and students will be able to explore more of the real-world in the comfort of their own spaces. How can we, educators, prepare our students for the type of medical experienced they will have in the future? Well, augmented reality plays a huge role!
Students will be able to engage by moving around and seeing objects in different perspectives.
Mobility learning will assist my students in moving outside the four walls, if needed. The interactivity of the iPad and its augmented reality apps are engaging, as students will be able to bring models into the classroom, such as interactive solar systems. My biology and my anatomy & physiology students will be able to utilize apps with interactives such as the Heart Stent Demonstration, Eyeball Anatomy, Neurons, and Coral Reef. My comprehensive science students will be able to view models of the solar system and observe the inside of the statue of liberty to observe how oxidation changes the chemical composition of certain objects. Students will be able to bring the statue into the classroom and see how it was originally copper but turned green due to the chemical changes.
Preparing my students for their futures outside of my classroom with the integration of iPads into our classroom, will be extremely beneficial, as students will make connections with the outside world from what they learn in the classroom and what they experience through augmented reality and technology. Your support will create a lasting impact on these young learners, fostering hope and determination for a brighter future in medicine.
