My READ 180 and System 44 students have audiobook CDs that accompany their paperback titles, but my classroom has no personalized players. Online listening, or using disc drives from a computer or laptop opens up the opportunity for endless distraction during independent reading time.
These developing readers need to hear fluent, expressive reading as they follow along in their books.
Help my students access the materials our classroom library already possesses by providing them with CD players. This will help them improve their reading comprehension and reading enjoyment while they still practice independent reading and building fluency. We are also short a small quantity of the headphones with built-in microphones that students need to fully utilize the READ 180 and System 44 programs as they practice their own reading and speaking.
