Audio Reading With Tonies

My Project

Tonies are characters that the students put on the speaker and it plays audio books. This is a fun, engaging, and unique way for students to get literacy into their day. All of these characters are ones that my students are always so excited for when we do our regular classroom read aloud.

Audio books allow students to hear fluent readers and also to revisit their favorite stories.

This helps foster a love for learning and fluency. In second grade many of our students are still working very hard on the skills to read, so helping to also foster a love of reading and a feeling of it being exciting, rather than a chore, can be difficult. I believe adding in unique and fun literacy activities keeps kids interested and hopefully fosters a life long love of reading.
