This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students live in a world where technology is increasingly present. As we navigate simulations, videos, and other websites, students sometimes need access to audio at an individual pace. The class set of headphones that we currently have is so old that several of the pairs don't even work anymore and I don't have enough for every student. They deserve better than that.
Headphones also allow better access to curriculum and assessments for all of my students, regardless of their reading ability.
Sometimes my students need a little extra help with text and benefit greatly from being able to hear audio along with their reading. I record myself reading text for homework and quizzes aloud so that I am providing appropriate accommodations, and a quality headphone set will only improve that experience.
