This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I would like to introduce the concept of vision board making to my amazing members of the "Unstoppable Lady Cubs" club. I feel that exposing them to a creative way of thinking through their goals will encourage self-awareness and self-reflection.
Supporting young girls' dreams from an early age will increase positive emotions and optimism, and positive emotions and optimism often create opportunities and increase the chances of success.
My goals for the project are that the girls enjoy thinking about their future, have the courage to take action to reach their goals, dare to share dreams that feel impossible to them, and support each other during the vison board making process.
The vision board art clip books will be shared between the girls. The girls will be able to choose from many options of pictures and cut outs to encourage curiosity and creativity. The inspirational stickers will also be shared between the girls and with so many choices of quotes available, they can personalize their vision board as much as possible. Each girl will be given a frame to insert their vision board so that they can hang it somewhere special to them.
My lady cubs have been receptive to all the activities planned for them thus far, and knowing how creative, brave, kind and intelligent they are, I feel that giving them the opportunity to create a vision board will set them up for success and teach them to appreciate themselves a lot more.
