Help me give my students receive attendance incentives and basic needs. Examples would be hair care so that students are able to express their beauty and understand the different cultures and prevent racial discrepancies. Incentives reduces absenteeism.

My Project
I am seeking donations to support our school’s Attendance Incentives and Basic Needs Program. Many of our students face challenges that impact their ability to attend school regularly, including lack of basic essentials like hygiene products, clothing, or school supplies. By contributing, you’ll help us provide meaningful attendance rewards and meet students' essential needs—motivating them to come to school, feel confident, and stay focused on learning. Your support will directly improve student engagement, well-being, and academic success.

**Equal access to education**: When students lack essentials like deodorant, menstrual products, clean clothes, or school supplies, they may avoid school or struggle to focus. These challenges disproportionately affect students of color, so providing these resources helps ensure every student can attend and succeed—regardless of background.
2. **Reduces stigma and shame**: Schools that provide hygiene products and basic needs help reduce the stigma that can lead to bullying or isolation. This creates a more inclusive environment where all students, especially those from historically marginalized groups, feel respected and supported.
3. **Improves representation and participation**: When students feel comfortable and confident, they're more likely to participate in class, clubs, and leadership roles. This helps ensure diverse voices are represented in school spaces, empowering students of color to lead and be heard.
4. **Supports long-term equity**: Addressing basic needs is a foundational part of racial equity work in schools. It acknowledges that not all students start from the same place and ensures that systemic barriers are actively removed—one practical, compassionate step at a time.
In short, meeting students' basic needs at school promotes fairness, dignity, and representation, creating a learning environment where all students—especially those from marginalized communities—can thrive.
