My Students

My students are very special because they live in an urban neighborhood that has a ton of mobility. The students are from low poverty families and do not have a lot of experiences outside of their neighborhood. Our school is one of the oldest schools in our district but was remodeled and enlarged 6 years ago. We even have our playground on the roof as we have no green space around our school. We also participate in a fresh fruit and vegetable program at our school, with 100% of our students eligible for free textbooks, breakfast and lunch. Our school has an after school program that is extremely popular, run by a local church/nonprofit organization.

My Project

Help keep our students sick-free. Having the kleenex, hand sanitizer, and lysol wipes will help keep our students free of sickness and in school.

Attendance is so important to our students.

Having hand sanitizer makes sure that we are not passing germs to our papers and pencils. This helps the teacher stay well, too. Having the kleenex allows us to wipe our noses not on our sleeves. LOL. Having the lysol wipes keeps our desks clean before and after we have had our snack for the day. It also helps to clean up if we sneeze or get sick on our desks.
