My Project
As an alternative school with students who are of transition age, there are several competing factors that impact students not being able to attend school consistently. Over time, the motivation to attend school significantly declines and students do not return to school or withdraw. Additionally, as an alternative school, we deal with significant behavioral challenges. Through our school Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) students will be rewarded for behavior, grades, and attendance. Students will be able to earn gift cards honoring no tardiness or hall walking during instructional time, course completions, perfect attendance, and more. These incentives allow us to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements and positive behaviors of our students. We want our impact on our students' lives to extend far beyond the four walls of the school.
