This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are mostly minority students and most of them come from a low-income family background. They are very active and enjoy coming to school and learning science.
They are always ready to learn new skills and explore new opportunities, but the unavailability of resources makes it hard for them to understand some of the abstract concepts that I teach; therefore, the need to explain the concepts in ways that make them real, captivating and interesting becomes imperative.
My students enjoy completing class projects that involve hands-on experiments, programming, art and research, which helps them express their understanding of chemistry concepts in their own way by creating new meanings of their discoveries.
My Project
My project is about helping my students who are sprinters and soccer players have necessary sneakers that they need in order to train effectively. I teach students who are very involved in sports. Some of them are involved in sprinting and playing soccer but they don't have the type sneakers that they need in order to stay active in the game. My students need sneakers and socks to train effectively and also maintain a healthy lifestyle.
Staying active by engaging in sports like soccer and sprinting has a lot of health benefits.
It helps to increase aerobic capacity and cardiovascular health. It also helps improve muscle tone to build strength, flexibility, and endurance. Research has shown that sports increase social interaction, healthy well-being, and brain activity. My students need sneakers and socks to train effectively when sprinting and playing soccer games.
