This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This year I will be coaching my middle schools girls basketball team.
Middle school is such a pivotal time for girls and being involved in athletics not only supports their confidence academically, but also their mental health in general.
Our team can use these supplies to feel their best, so they play their best. Items like hair ties for multiple hair textures are important to building community and respecting culture, especially in a diverse building like my school. I am so proud of the girls who are willing to try something new this year and want to support them every way we can.
