My students need a tabletop lighted panel with manipulative to experience things outside of their normal life experiences. Using the slides that are within this project they will get to see things that they wouldn't see otherwise.

My Students
In our classroom we strive to provide experiences that our students would not have the opportunity to experience outside of school. We are a small, rural school with one preschool in our district. Most of our students come to us in the at-risk category. I have around 20 students each year. The students come to me without much experience outside of the home. Many have little to no education or learning opportunities before they reach our classroom.
Our school has a large percentage of students on free or reduced lunch programs.
Around 77% of students are on this program. 45% of our students are English Language Learners. 13% of our students are on IEPs. So you can see that we have a large need for real world experiences for our students.
My Project
My students will love this lighted panel. With budget cuts we are in need of more materials to help my at-risk students. We are only able to fund necessities at this time. This panel would be something that not only myself but the kids would love to have in the classroom.
They need to have experiences in school that show them more about the world outside of our small, rural community.
That's where this project can help. We can investigate various objects and materials using the panel. We can build and add with the kit that I have included here as well.
There are endless activities that I can come up with to help my students grow and learn. I want to help them achieve more than they think they can and help them understand that you can come from a small, rural area and make a difference in the world.
