Help me give my students the journals they need to engage in writing skills throughout distance learning! Also, help me create innovative virtual instruction.
The children in my class live in a high poverty community. Many of them are refugees whose appreciative families have escaped their homelands in search of a better life in the U.S.A. Most of my students are English language learners. For some of my students, this is the first time that they have ever been enrolled in school.
They may come from all over the world, but one thing that my students have in common is that they love coming to school each day, even if the school is virtual.
My classroom provides a safe and happy environment in contrast to the challenges that my students and their families endure daily as they navigate their new lives in the USA. Each morning they are lined up with heart-warming smiles eager to enter the classroom and start a new day of learning. Many of them have expressed that they would rather spend every day at school than at home.
My Project
These at-home writing journals will ensure that students are given engaging prompts to boost their literary skills at home. With students working from home, I want to make sure all of them have these creative journals to regularly practice writing. Also, students will be given markers to illustrate their entries.
By journal writing daily during distance learning, students will become more confident and competent writers.
Additionally, I will provide better online instruction using the innovative resources created by teachers with a Teachers Pay Teachers (TPT) gift card. The gift of a TPT gift card supports other teachers as well as myself.
