My Students
My students are currently sheltering in place in less than ideal learning conditions. They do not have access to learning supplies or stimulating learning opportunities.
When your family is living in a state of acute stress and prolonged trauma, high quality young learning experiences are hard to come by.
As their teacher I am doing my best to provide my Scholars access to learning supplies, engaging experiences, and emotional support to ensure that they continue learning & growing during this uncertain time.
My Project
These kits will allow the Star Scholars to become botanists in their own homes! Focused on innovation and creativity, these learning kits come with a variety of built-in experiments that we will be doing together in our virtual class. We will work through the lessons together, giving kids the opportunity to build their own greenhouse, use a 3D building app in virtual reality, see how conditions like light, temperature and moisture affect own plants and more! We will be supplementing the guided experiments that are provided in this kit with additional learning opportunities across the learning content areas incorporating art, writing, reading, and math lessons.
We will use these kits to build a long-term, distance learning unit that inspires Scholars to become better problem solvers and future innovators.
This is an exciting way to keep Scholars engaged in our remote learning over time and give them hands-on learning to pair with our virtual experiences.
