My students need noise cancelling head phones to make it easier for them to participate in assemblies, pep rallies and safety drills without causing them anxiety and fear.

My Students

Before my students leave my classroom everyday, they must tell me they are "Smart and Awesome!" The reason I try to ingrain this into each student is because it is true. I want my students to know, although they may face daily academic and social challenges, they are smart and unique in their own individual way and they make our world a better place.

My Project

My students are unique in their own individual way. Loud noises make it hard for my students to attend pep rallies, assemblies, and participate in safety drills without increasing their anxiety and fear. With the noise cancelling headphones, my students will be able to attend events with their classmates. In the past my students have had to leave certain events due to trouble regulating sensory information. The headphones will give my students equal opportunity to participate with other children. Listening headphones would also allow my students to use the iPads in my classroom.

My students are visual learners. The iPads allow them to learn in a different way on top of their daily direct instruction. The headphones would allow my students to use the iPads to aide in their instruction, without having to compete with the rest of the noise coming from the classroom.
