Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I am trying to restock some products we use in my STEM and science classes. Consumables such as craft sticks, cotton swabs, cups, and pipe cleaners we use in a variety of projects. Students love to do a "quick build." One that we will do with these supplies is called "Throne of Bones." Students have two options in the challenge. In the first, they are given 20 cotton swabs, 4 pipe cleaners, 12" of tape, and 4 index cards. They design a throne that looks like it is made of bones, is no more than 6" tall and has a seat at least 2" wide. The second option adds the element that it needs to be strong enough to support the weight of a full water bottle.
In the Project Lead the Way: Design and Modeling curriculum, we do a project where students make a puzzle cube using small wooden blocks.
I have included in the request some more of these blocks for this project.
