Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At our Middle School in South Los Angeles, we have a growing community of aspiring engineers in our newly opened STEM magnet program. This program has breathed new life into our school community, of which nearly all students are eligible for free or reduced lunch. In our program, students learn essential skills in STEM while they explore the many opportunities within STEM-related careers.

If you visit our school, you will see our aspiring engineers tinkering away creating projects to help the community - can you help them create more with filament for our 3D printer?

Luckily, we received a 3D printer, a Method XL, thanks to a grant we worked hard to get. Now we need to purchase filament for our new 3D printer.

In the school library, students have seen the 3D printer set up for weeks now, but are unable to use it without the filament. They ask me daily when they will get to use it, and some even have projects already created on TinkerCAD that they wish to print. Your support will help our students use this resource.
