The items in this project will help my students to have the supports they need as diverse learners, while fostering a productive learning environment which maintains routine and schedule!
The number-line and multiplication sliders will allow my students to access the 5th grade curriculum while supporting any academic gaps they might have.
Having these available in the classroom will allow students to self advocate and problem solve to find strategies that work best for them in math! Additionally the sight word magnets will help my students to identify common words that they see day to day and will promote their ability to recognize and spell key words which will lead them to become more fluent readers!
The monthly calendar and the schedule will play a role in our students lead morning meeting where students will get a outline of the day! Clear expectations and visual aides help my students to anticipate activities throughout the day and be prepared!
The Little Spot of Emotions Book will be introduced to my class in September and will be the basis of our SEL class behavior system. Using this book as a tool will help to promote positive coping strategies and self regulation amongst my students.
The classroom bins and pouches will help my students to keep their personal and classroom materials organized throughout the day! Allowing them to easily find the items that they need as independently as possible is vital to their success!
