This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
About My Students
The amazing students submitting this project are Naomy, Joanna, and Kayla. These soon to be high schoolers are smart, funny, hard-working, and, in their own words, dramatic and loving. They value student leadership, and they want to put their values to good use! They are thoughtful and caring individuals who want to make a difference at our school.
These girls have a lot of girl power, and in this project, they really show how much they care about the student body and student leadership. As part of their Language Arts class, they decided to write a grant for supplies the ASB students can use to make posters and decorations for events. They want to make our campus prettier and make posters to get the students more involved in events on campus. They would appreciate your help!
My students are studying how art reflects values. They are using their Language Arts skills to write grants that reflect their own personal values. These students value leadership, and they hope to use their persuasive writing to convince you to support their grant that provides supplies to ASB (Associated Student Body). In preparing this project, students are using 21st century skills of critical thinking, collaboration, and communication. It always amazes me to see the ideas they want to bring to life. Thank you for taking the time to read their grant. If you value the student leadership, this is the project for you!
In Their Own Words
Our main goal of this grant is to help the ASB get new art supplies. ASB is very important to our school. They notify students of events by making posters, but making posters is not all they do. They also go to each classroom and collect the recycling . They go through it and sort it. All the recycling money that is collected it goes to our funds. This money helps us buy pencils, computers, library books and field trips for our classes. Mrs. W teaches us ways to make our posters more noticeable. If the poster we make is really eye catching, it will inform the people who read it, and they'll know when the fundraisers are, how much they cost, and the time they'll happen. So posters are important!
We want our school to shine! To make that happen we need our ASB students to work their magic. We are in ASB, and we will be the leaders on this project by looking up examples of great posters on the internet and then showing our ASB friends how to make them. We will use the supplies you give us to transform the posters at our school.
This project is important because if we had more materials for ASB, we could make better posters. If we make really noticeable posters, we can help out the events/fundraisers be more successful. In that way, we are helping our school community. All donations are greatly appreciated! Thank you for reading our grant!
