Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are creative, take initiative in their own learning, and are curious about the world! They love hands-on, engaging projects that challenge them to think outside of the box in not only their solutions, but the way they communicate the information that they just explored. They are enthusiastic learners and are full of questions.
Many students in my classroom have no access to technology at home, and our school provides them with opportunities to gain these vital 21st-century skills.
Our school is set in urban Los Angeles. Many students speak two or more languages and are the children of immigrant parents. They have a strong work ethic and work diligently to make their future a success.
Each child in my classroom absolutely loves learning. The third-grade team at my school incorporates a variety of learning styles, differentiated lesson planning, and alternative seating and learning opportunities to ensure that each student's needs are met. We also use computational thinking strategies in our lessons to get them to think. They are an amazing group of kids, and I can't wait to help them grow as citizens of the world. They are our future!
My Project
My rug area is a vital space in my classroom. It is a space that provides comfort and flexible seating opportunities. It is a space that provides small group work and intervention. It is a space allows kids to collaborate. It is a space that should be clean and comfy.
My students need new rugs to create a collaboartive workspace that is clean and flebible.
The rug area is used daily in my classroom. We work together on number sense routines in the morning, and end our day on the rug having our SEL meetings. Recently, we got smart boards and the room had to be rearranged. Now, my big rug seems gigantic and unsafe. In addition, the rug is dirty as it takes up most of the floor space. Please donate to my project to help me create a clean, comfy workspace.
