My students come from all over Palm Beach County. Some wake up earlier that me to catch a bus to ride to school...regardless of their background, I have the most eager, enthusiastic and creative group of first graders! We focus on workshop based models that can help us hit our learning targets. They work hard to keep up with the rigorous assignments.
They have a love for learning and come into the school ready to learn each day.
It is often hard to come up with new and engaging ideas to keep their mind growing as fast as they are growing. I want them to have the best materials and learning environment that I can offer!
My Project
The easel will be used for both whole group lessons and small group practice to improve both our reading and writing. The book tray is perfect for holding the books while the students practice their oral reading. The white board is on their level so they can practice phonics and sentences that they are taught.
This will be a fun way to practice the skills I am teaching!
Additionally, I can bring the easel around to different groups without the unnecessary transition time of them always having to come to a permanently placed whiteboard. Its flexibility is perfect for my flexible seating classroom.
