Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have an Autistic Support Classroom that is new to the school. I work in a Title One high school in the School District of Philadelphia. The students that I work with struggle with expressive and receptive language abilities. Visuals are an essential tool to help students with autism understand their environment and express their wants and needs.
I am trying to make my classroom a second home to my students, and I focus on creating a safe, fun environment.
This "homey" enviornment, is where we spend most of our day and it is important that we have supplies the supplies that we need. I am thankful for all of your support!
My Project
My students work in small groups for Reading and Math. At the moment they have the single student desks and when we do small groups they have to move them together.
The tables will help our small group work.
It will help them to learn to work better in teams. We are always helping each other to make better desicion when it comes to answering reading and math questions
Having the tables in the classroom will help my students to socialize more as classmates. It will encourage them to engage an initiate conversations with their peers. I am thankful for all of your support!
