Artsy Stools

My Students

What makes my 900 students special are the many different cultures represented. My students are very kind to one another always working together toward our school mission. My students enjoy having art twice a week for 50 minutes at a time.

My Project

Inspire my students to feel like artists by setting up the art room as an art studio, with the addition of art stools. When my students enter my classroom I want them to be artists. The chairs that I have now take up more room than art stools would and it will look more inviting.

Ignite my students' creativity by giving them the feeling of a famous artist in their very own studio!

Throughout art history artists created in their studio sitting on a stool in front of their canvas. Art stools made it easier to get up and down and to see their art at eye level. The stool was originally noticed at the Strindberg Art Gallery during an exhibition of furniture entitled Alvar and Aino Architects in 1934.
