The amazing students that I teach are in kindergarten, first grade, and second grade diagnosed with Autism. All of the students in my class are impacted by Autism in a variety of ways. My class is full of excited learners with unique personalities.
This unique group of students love to create crafts and projects to go along with the lessons being taught, as well as holiday themed projects.
We create projects that enhance their fine motor skills, sensory skills, and are fun to make!
My Project
My students learn best from hands on activities. In my classroom, we do a lot of crafts and learning stations to enhance learning. They enjoy creating projects to go along with the holidays and the different things we are studying. We will use the Super Hero masks and photo frames during the first week of school as my classroom theme is superheroes. During each holiday, we will create a keepsake craft (Thanksgiving Turkey, Valentine Handprint, Mardi Gras glasses and Easter Necklace). We will use the beads to create name necklaces that will help with fine motor skills. The wiggly eyes, pompoms, pipecleaners, glue sticks, and gems will be used for various crafts and learning stations to reinforce topics that have previously been taught.
